With more than 40 years of experience in various industries, including oil and gas, marketing, healthcare and academia, Dr. Dodaro has garnered a lauded reputation as a senior lecturer at Regis University, with which she teaches courses in management, business and legal services. Harboring a particular specialization in strategic planning, human resources, workers' compensation, employee relations and myriad other subjects, she previously served in multiple administrative positions with a number of organizations, including as the owner of Dodaro & Associates, a business partner with B&C Enterprises LLC and a lead teacher with Front Range Community College. Likewise, Dr. Dodaro found success as the executive director of communications for NAS Recruitment, the human resources director with the University of Colorado Hospital and the manager of administrative services at Hamilton Oil, among numerous other posts.
Esteemed as a visionary in her field, Dr. Dodaro has frequently been invited to speak before various conferences, membership meetings and symposia, through which she has expounded on behavioral interviewing, workplace diversity, risk management and human resource metrics, to name only a few. She has also contributed to several articles published through professional periodicals, including the Journal of Non-Profit Education and Leadership, HR Pulse Magazine and quarterly employer newsletters. Among her previous professional affiliations, Dr. Dodaro maintained her membership with the Society for Human Resource Management and the Colorado Human Resource Association.
A devoted volunteer on behalf of her local community, Dr. Dodaro presently excels as the project manager for the board of directors of the Hyland Greens Home Owners Association. Furthermore, she has been active as a member of the Adams County Open Space Advisory Board, a member of the human service board of the Westminster City Council, the chairperson of the Adams County Workforce Development Board and the president of the National Disability Management Employers Coalition, among many other civic roles. Most notably, Dr. Dodaro was also a candidate in a recall election to replace a member of the Westminster City Council in 2021.
Among her many career accomplishments, Dr. Dodaro is incredibly proud to have helped write a $5,000 grant for nurses at the department of labor in Washington, D.C. To commemorate her indelible contributions to both her community and profession, she has also been presented with numerous accolades. Likewise, she received an Excellence in Teaching Award in 1996, 1999, 2018 and 2019. Furthermore, Dr. Dodaro was recognized as the Woman of the Year by Business and Professional Women of Colorado in 1998, which also celebrated her with an Award for Excellence in Business in 1995, among many others.
Dr. Dodaro initially pursued coursework in psychology at the University of Colorado Denver, after which she attended Regis University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in technical management and a Master of Science in management in 1990 and 1992, respectively. Following these accomplishments, she later obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in organizational development and human resources at Capella University in 2006. Looking toward the future, Dr. Dodaro hopes to be elected to the Westminster City Council, through which she can make a difference for her city and help promote transparency in local government.
