GUAYAMA, PR, September 08, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Luis Llorens-Anadon has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected based on current reference value. Mr. Llorens-Anadon initially obtained a Bachelor of Science in mechanical and civil engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1962. Driven to become an astronaut during his teenage years, he enrolled at the University of Notre Dame in 1958 because it was one of two schools in the United States with a curriculum in aeronautical engineering at the time. The Vietnam War impacted Mr. Llorens-Anadon career, who at the time was training as a pilot in the United States Air Force ROTC, to majoring in Mechanical Engineering Power Option and Civil Engineering. He challenged the boards exams and at 20 years of age became a Licensed Engineer and Surveyor in Puerto Rico. This title was changed to Professional Engineer in 1982 becoming a master engineer. In this field he planned, designed and constructed residential, commercial and industrial structures and later maintained and operated new infrastructure while rehabilitating existing infrastructure. In addition, Mr. Llorens-Anadon was active as an assistant to the chairman of the board for Commonwealth Oil Refining Company Inc., at one point among the largest independent petroleum refiners and petrochemical producers in the world, supplying nearly 80 percent of all petroleum products consumed in Puerto Rico.
Since 1963 Mr. Llorens-Anadon has excelled as principal partner in Ing. Luis A. Llorens and Associates, an engineering and real estate appraising firm located in Guayama, PR. The office provides services in all fields of engineering and real estate specializing in appraisals for litigation cases such as divorces, inheritance, property taxes, property rights, encumbrances and in real estate transactions, including support to lawyers, accountants and expertise to the state and federal courts. Consulting practice is also integrated for buyers, sellers and government agencies helping establish "asking price", "purchasing offers", property taxes, income flow analysis, holding period investments, present value including future value estimate and discount.
The office prides in being the first to go digital in the island operating a Radio Shack Tandy TRS-80 PC, then upgrading to the first Apple McIntosh, growing to IBM PC and later establishing the first computer services enterprise with a Datapoint system; and maintaining state of the art technology to the day.
Mr. Llorens-Anadon considers his most notable achievement to have been the first person to approve the board exams of professional real estate appraising practices in Puerto Rico in 1974 when no other state of the Union had this requisite. Real Estate Appraisal being a new profession at the time, he travelled frequently for four years to the continental USA for continuous education under the tutorship of Henry Harrison, the creator, professor and writer of the textbooks that still bind the profession. He also enjoys professional pride for appraising a magnificently designed centennial school structure in Puerto Rico with a ventilation system that his professionally inspired extensive research tied to the Egyptian castles dating over 4000 years. Currently, he is attempting to promote the sale of this now abandoned building to The Knights of Columbus as offices and homeless shelter and preservation as an architectural and engineering masterpiece.
Presently, Mr. Llorens-Anadon is establishing a home in Kissimmee, Florida with a subsidiary office while maintaining his home and office in Puerto Rico. His wish is to continue serving his people and partake with his sons living in Florida. No thoughts about retiring for this dedicated professional.
