In 2020 was selected for the Wisconsin Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers.
WAUSAU, WI, September 16, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Peter J. Prusinski, Esq., has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Prusinski obtained a Bachelors of Arts in philosophy and business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2007 and continued his education with a Juris Doctor from Marquette University in Milwaukee in 2010, where he attained a place on the Dean's List. He was admitted to the State Bar of Wisconsin and the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin and is a member of the American Bar Association and the National, Wisconsin, and Marathon County Associations of Criminal Defense Lawyers. In addition, Mr. Prusinski has served as past president of the Marathon County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and in 2020 was selected for the Wisconsin Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers.
While studying at Marquette, Mr. Prusinski interned under the Honorable Rebecca F. Dallet (now a Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice) in the Milwaukee County Circuit Court Felony Division. In 2010, he joined Crooks, Low & Connell, S.C., in Wausau, Wisconsin, where he later became a partner and shareholder.
In historic 2020, Mr. Prusinski established Prusinski Law, a criminal and traffic defense firm based in Wausau. Over his career, he has defended more than one thousand clients in cases ranging from misdemeanors to murder in Wausau and northcentral Wisconsin. Mr. Prusinski has also prospered in civil litigation and handled numerous civil matters over the years at the firm of Crooks, Low & Connell S.C., including bench trials, personal injury claims and jury trials, temporary restraining orders and injunctions, contested child custody and placement matters, landlord and tenant evictions and small claims trials. In addition, his extensive knowledge of immigration law has enabled him to assist clients who may face deportation, inadmissibility, or ineligibility for legal permanent residence or citizenship because of criminal allegations. Mr. Prusinski has also aided numerous individuals and families to obtain legal permanent residence and U.S. citizenship in northern Wisconsin.
Mr. Prusinski attributes his success to his innate determination. By the age of 10, he could manage his family's dairy farm despite a bitter cold winter and his father's convalescence from injury. He also credits the reputation he has built in the community, as he is known as one of its leading criminal defense attorneys. His background in business and his marketing skills have aided his ascent. He was inspired to be a lawyer by his great grandfather, an attorney and pharmacist in Milwaukee who helped many during the Great Depression, often without pay, and in immigration law by his wife, who hails from Peru. In the coming years, Mr. Prusinski would like to focus on criminal law and expand his practice.
