Dr. Colmery began his career in 1968, at which point he garnered valuable experience as an associate veterinarian at Patterson Animal Hospital in Michigan. Soon thereafter, he excelled as the director of the Westarbor Animal Hospital, the chief dentist at the Animal Medical Center and a staff dentist and oral surgeon at multiple facilities. Additionally, he treats animals at the Detroit Zoo and the Toledo Zoo. A trusted voice in the field, Dr. Colmery has further flourished as a consultant and a speaker at lectures around the world.
Dr. Colmery has notably co-authored numerous publications including various veterinary dental textbooks. He was honorably presented with the Peter Emily Award and distinguished amongst the United States Jaycees' Outstanding Young Men of America by Phi Zeta Honor Society. Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Dr. Colmery obtained a bachelor's degree and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in 1967 and 1968, respectively.
