EASTMAN, GA, September 16, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Thomas E. Halaska, EdD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Halaska celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Halaska accumulated over four decades of expertise in his field before retiring from Middle Georgia College in 2013 as a professor emeritus of business and economics. Initially acquired by the institution in 1982 as the director of management information systems, he later served as director of institutional research between 1987 and 2003. As director, Dr. Halaska was successful in creating a complete registration system for the registrar, which they continue to utilize today.
Prior to his commitments on campus, Dr. Halaska enjoyed several years with the Tom Houston Peanut Company in Columbus, Georgia, as a plant engineer. Noting that it was a wonderful opportunity, he also found time to pursue a master's degree in business while working full-time, which then led to a promotion overseeing the company's candy plant. Dr. Halaska was then recruited by Stucky Stores in the pet division in Eastman, Georgia, as director of manufacturing.
Dr. Halaska studied at Milwaukee School of Engineering, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1969. Continuing his studies, he completed a Master of Business Administration at Georgia State University, followed by a Doctor of Education at the University of Georgia in 1992. Dr. Halaska also holds a pilot's license.
To support his professional endeavors, Dr. Halaska has been aligned with several professional organizations, including the Association for Institutional Research and the Society for College and University Planning. He is also a member of Rotary International, where he has been serving on the board of directors of the Cochran chapter since 1986. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Halaska has been cited in nearly 20 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in the World.
