SILVER SPRING, MD, September 16, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sylviane Elessie has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After immigrating to the United States from the Republic of Cameroon in Africa, Ms. Elessie fostered her dream of helping families and children with immigration issues. Backed by her desire to protect others from harm, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at St. Mary's College of Maryland, where she served as a student manager for the bookstore over the course of her studies. She also worked for the Maryland House Ways and Means Committee during her Spring Semester of 2010 because she had technically finished her graduation requirements by the fall of 2009, but she wanted to walk with her class, so she took the internship. Upon graduating, she enrolled at Valparaiso University School of Law in pursuit of a Doctor of Jurisprudence. During law school, she served as a legal clerk and family law practicum.
Never one to rest on her laurels, Ms. Elessie further flourished as a student attorney for the Domestic Violence Clinic at Valparaiso University while earning a master's degree in psychology, family counseling and dynamics and child and adolescent development from her alma mater. In recent years, she honed her skill set as a law clerk with the Law Office of Ellen L. Lee, an administrative assistant for the Embassy of Cameroon in Washington, D.C. and an associate for the Law Offices of Manuel Rivera & Associates. Drawing upon her considerable excellence, Ms. Elessie excels as a senior immigration attorney for Sanabria and Associates, for which she manages ten staff members, takes client calls, trains newly-hired lawyers and specializes in a variety of immigration matters, including defensive and affirmative asylum cases, special immigrant juvenile status cases and waiver applications for new immigrant visa grants.
During law school, Ms. Elessie was affiliated with the Women Law Student Association and the Black Law Student Association. She also contributed as a basic life support volunteer for Cure Multiple Sclerosis at Valparaiso University. Even though her career has been filled with highlights, she is most proud of empathizing with her clients because it allows her to become much more motivated to ensure a positive outcome. Within the coming years, Ms. Elessie intends to foster her mission of providing free consulting services for those in need.
