With over 60 years of professional experience, he is the founder and president of Technology Development Inc. (since 1980). Dr. Shuck has extensive experience in a wide array of disciplines and industries, including chairman ME department, academia, graduate faculty PhD and MS thesis committees (NSF Fellow), research and administration, design and sales in manufacturing, conducting interdisciplinary research in biomechanics, hydraulic fracturing, rheology, human gut gastroenterology, consulting and R&D, inventions, and real estate development. He is a registered Professional Engineer and licensed surveyor in West Virginia and Ohio, certified by the National Council of Engineering Examiners, and U.S. security "Q" clearance (1970s). In the 1980s Dr. Shuck developed and completed over 65 oil and gas wells in West Virginia and Ohio. He has also served as science advisor to former West Virginia Governor Jay Rockefeller, technology coordinator for the West Virginia Legislature, West Virginia University, and West Virginia Tech Engineering Advisory Committee for 16 years, and a mentor to hundreds of students.

He has also researched and hypothesized important roles the human microbiome plays in symptoms, diseases, and brain-gut communications. He believes the human brain and GI tract, being in constant intensive communication, are the two most complex and sophisticated systems (consisting of over 6,000 and 90% uncharacterized variables) to model on Earth, and 53 incurable diseases of 34 symptoms are affiliated both jointly and severally along with the immune system.
