Inspired to help keep the peace in his community, Mr. Coughran pursued a career in law enforcement. (Hide, Escape, Run, Overcome) Program. The program was developed to instill safety-minded skills that help children survive violent incidents through age-appropriate courses, engaging activities, professional development for educators, and a series of drills and scenarios.
In addition to serving as the president of Safe Kids Inc. and the Standards Training Group, Mr. Coughran also holds leadership positions with several nonprofit organizations and professional associations in his community. For his efforts across the span of his career, Mr. Coughran has multiple nominations as a Distinguished Alumni Awardee at Chapman University. He has also received multiple California State Assembly and State Senate Certificates of Recognition. Most notably, Mr. Coughran was presented with the 2017 Integrity Award from Farmers and Merchants Bank, the Social Impact Award from the International Executive Council, a Certificate of Recognition from the U.S. Congressional Office, and awarded knighthoods from two internationally recognized orders of chivalry.
