Rev. Dr. Muzorewa has notably obtained a Master of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Seminary as well as a Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy from the Union Theological Seminary, N.Y. He has since served both as theology professor and parish pastor concurrently. Beginning at Epworth Theological College in Zimbabwe, he gave leadership to several institutions of higher learning. Rev. Dr. Muzorewa currently utilizes his expertise as the chair of the department of History, Political Science, Pan African Studies, Philosophy and Religion at Lincoln University.
In his current position, Rev. Dr. Muzorewa supervises 15 professors in the department and performs many administrative duties while also teaching one class per semester. As a dedicated professional, he donates part of his salary to the university's scholarship fund for first-generation college students, many of whom are from impoverished neighborhoods in New York, Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia. Outside of the aforementioned university, he has also extended financial assistance to students who cannot afford education, specifically on the continent of Africa. Most notably, Rev. Dr. Muzorewa has dedicated a significant amount of time and effort helping orphans and widows affected by the Zimbabwe War of Liberation, which has led to his decision to run for president of the country.
As a respected voice in his field, Rev. Dr. Muzorewa has authored several essential academic publications throughout his career. For Wipf and Stock Publishers, he authored "The Great Being: Creator, Yahweh, Chuku, Allah, God, Brahman: An Introduction to the World's Major Religions" and "The Origins and Development of African Theology." He also previously authored "Christ as Our Ancestor: Christology from an African Perspective" in the Journal of Religion in Africa, "Mission Studies Bibliography" in Mission Studies, and "Religion, Race and Nationalism" in the Canadian Journal of African Studies. He also authored "A College Introduction to Religion". Most recently, Rev. Dr. Muzorewa authored "African Origins of Monotheism: Challenging the Eurocentric Interpretation of God Concepts on the Continent and in Diaspora" for Pickwick Publications.
