In 1982, he graduated in the top of his class from the Chapman School of Seamanship's preparation program for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) captain's license that included vocational training in seamanship, navigation, ship's systems, maintenance and safety. He shifted his attention to sailing in 1982 as a captain and instructor teaching offshore and coastal cruising with the International School of Sailing. From 1984 to 1989, Mr. Glick worked as a captain of the full service charter yacht "Yesterday's Dream" where he did weeklong sailing excisions and guided snorkeling tours in the Virgin Islands. Since 2015, Mr. Glick has portrayed a Pirate Captain with San Diego Pirate Adventures, an historically authentic theatrical Pirate group that does a comedic interactive Pirate Show, often while underway sailing on the historic tall ships of the San Diego Maritime Museum.
Mr. Glick attributes his success to developing his skill level, his problem-solving capabilities and listening to feedback from clients and passengers.
