During an earlier stage of his career, Dr. Bhusri gained valuable expertise in the field with Lenox Hill Hospital, where he served as a resident and chief resident of internal medicine, as well as the chief fellow of cardiology. Additionally, he maintained involvement as an assistant professor and the associate program director of cardiology between 2007 and 2010. Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Bhusri received a Bachelor of Science in molecular genetics through Cornell University and a Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York's Downstate College of Medicine.
Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Bhusri has maintained his professional alignment with the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, where he is a council member. Among his career highlights, he is most proud to have endured his own heart condition despite a 20 percent chance of survival. His experiences as a patient in his own right have fortified his natural empathy and bedside manner with those under his care.
