Boerstling, and was the principal author of both "Effect of Nuclear Deformability on Reaction Cross Sections" and "Influence of Nuclear Forces on the Coulomb Barrier in Heavy-Ion Reactions," the latter of which was featured in the Physical Review. For his professional excellence, he received the Bruce Howard Memorial Scholarship and the Proctor and Gamble Research Fellowship. Among his career accomplishments, Dr. Riesenfeld is most proud of the work he has published, and to have completed postdoctoral work in Germany.
