Anna Yeung Mayo Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Ms. Mayo has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the field of information technology, for working tirelessly for workers' rights, and helping others in all of her fields of endeavor

SACRAMENTO, CA, September 30, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Anna Yeung Mayo with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Mayo celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Mayo enjoyed a tenured career as an information technology developer and consultant with the California Department of Consumer Affairs for nearly two decades. Recently retiring in 2021, her years with the Department involved serving on the SEIU statewide bargaining advisory committee and council, as the District Labor Council President, and as a webmaster for the Information Technology Reclassification Bargaining Team, among other roles. She was newly elected as a California State Retiree Delegate and is also a member of the advisory panel for the Bank of America. Throughout the course of her multifaceted career, Ms. Mayo also spent eight years as a video professional in the performing arts industry, and over 20 years as a software specialist for the U.S. Department of Defense where she has received two major suggestion awards. One award from the Department of Army and another one is from Department of Air Force which has generated over $26,000 for the work force.

Long driven by the desire to succeed in a field dominated by men, Ms. Mayo is proud to have distinguished herself in the information technology industry. Outside of her work in this field, she also earned extra income for professional tutoring school-aged children in grades K-12 in mathematics, language arts and Microsoft applications for ten years. Additionally, Ms. Mayo served as a U.S. Air Force medic for 20 years, during which time she participated in Operation Desert Shield and established a medical library in 1980.

Drawing inspiration from the example of her late father, who was an air force pilot and artist in his own right, Ms. Mayo became involved in the visual arts as a promotor and organizer for various performing artists. To wit, she served as the chief executive officer for Finest Asian Performing Arts Inc., and was the producer of the Finest Asian Music Festival Series for over 10 years, through which she was responsible for coordinating the first ever East/West concert performance with the Sacramento Symphony, which promoted various local and international artists. Ms. Mayo was also aligned with the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission as a board member for several years.

Devoting her free time as a volunteer on behalf of her church, Ms. Mayo has participated in fundraising and other events to support various causes. She was also instrumental in helping a local homeless program by volunteering her time as a videographer. Likewise, Ms. Mayo has volunteered with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and with several University of California Medical Centers in San Francisco and Sacramento.

Ms. Mayo earned a Bachelor of Arts at San Francisco State University and a Master of Arts in Asian art at the University of the Pacific. She also completed courses at the University of California Berkeley and coursework toward a doctorate degree in psychology counseling online. In 1997, Ms. Mayo received a Special Award from the Voluntary Bureau for her contributions as a volunteer at the California Medical Centers. She also obtained an award from the U.S. Department of the Army and an Honorable Plaque from Mather Air Force Hospital for the design of its new medical library.
