SUDBURY, MA, October 05, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Geoffrey Keith has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
As a child, Mr. Keith showed great promise as a musician, but struggled with reading music. In 2005, armed with the desire to be the music teacher he never had, he established Success Music Studio. Success Music Studio specializes in multisensory strategies for instructing special needs music students. He has taught music for thirty-three years and has logged over 6,000 hours teaching special needs students.
Prior to opening his music studio, Mr. Keith served in various capacities, including as the vice president of the Lowell chapter of the National Association of Jazz Educators. He worked as an arranger for Cornerstone Christian Music Worldwide, Inc. He also was the director of the Boston Songwriters Workshop. After he opened Success Music Studio, he became a consultant to teachers on music and special education and a presenter at conferences regarding music and special needs.
Before pursing his music career, Mr. Keith studied piano with Marilyn Roth and guitar with William Buonocore at the College of Music at UMass Lowell, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts. In addition, he studied jazz composition and arranging with the Hollywood composer Shawn K. Clement, and studied voice with Sue Ellen Kuzma, an opera singer on Decca. Mr. Keith was presented with an award for his song "Great Adventure" in 1997 and has also been bestowed with several other accolades of note.
Deeply passionate about music education, Mr. Keith has written numerous articles. They have appeared in the Dyslexic Reader, American Songwriter Magazine, and Musiczine, among others. He has also been interviewed for David Cutler's Book "The Savvy Musician" and for the Sudbury Town Crier, a local publication. In addition, he publishes articles weekly on successmusicstudio.com/the-successful-music-student-blog/.
In accounting for his success, Mr. Keith credits his commitment to persistence, a good work ethic, and genuine compassion and empathy for his students. Looking toward the future, he intends to publish a book on employing multisensory techniques to teach special needs music students. He is also collaborating on a special needs piano lesson series with Adam Brooks, a music instructor at the Carroll School.
