The president and founder of Ferrate Solutions, Dr. Waite formed his groundbreaking business in 2019. Manufacturing chemical equipment that utilizes a one-of-a-kind process to distribute the very desired iron-based compound, the company is effective in treating or removing nearly every type of pollution found on Earth, including radioactive materials, human waste nutrients and metals. Discovered and first tested several hundreds of years ago, ferrate has notably become sought-after in the last 50 years for its use in environmental applications.
Throughout an exciting career, Dr. Waite has had the opportunity to work with the ballast water treatment systems through the International Maritime Organization and others. He also worked as a consultant on behalf of the International Atomic Energy Agency for the United Nations in five different countries. Additionally, Dr. Waite served as an international consultant in engineering and he supervised programs for numerous other organizations and institutions including the World Health Organization, the U.S. Navy and the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Dr. Waite's background also includes operating as the program director of the National Science Foundation's environmental engineering program from 2002 to 2005. As an educator, he accepted several prestigious positions at the University of Miami and Northwestern University. Dr. Waite was later appointed as the Dean of the College of Engineering at Florida Institute of Technology in 2005 and was designated as Professor Emeritus in 2014.

He also penned over 150 technical reports and research papers during his years as a scholar. Dr. Waite has presented several of his papers at international conferences.
Dr. Waite was likewise selected by President Barack Obama to speak before the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Agriculture alongside a group of experts in the U.S. to discuss the food and water nexus and the need to grow food without destroying water supplies. A board member for four national research committees and councils during his career, he was a founding member of the Legislature for Ocean and History and Projects Board and a founding member of the Solid and Hazardous Waste Center at the University of Florida. Dr. Waite further participated as a panel member for Keepers of the Everglades.
Dr. Waite obtained a Bachelor of Science in civil and environmental engineering and a Master of Science at Northeastern University. He later earned a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in environmental engineering at Harvard University. A two-time recipient of the Provost Award, Dr. Waite was recognized with an honor from the University of Miami for being the most prolific researcher on campus as well as an Achievement Award from Sigma Chi International Fraternity.
