Originally founded in 1946 by Jim and Ruby Withrow, the Cagles are the fourth family to take ownership of the business in May 2019. Having borne a passion for her field since attending high school, Mrs. Cagle initially worked for a local chocolate shop in Grand Saline, Texas, and continued to do so throughout college. In 2013, she established her own business, Kaitlin's Confections, as the owner and chocolatier, selling her chocolates out of her home while working full-time for her father's chiropractic clinic. Mrs. Cagle eventually began marketing her own company at local booths, and made the decision to find a storefront to sell her candy. However, the opportunity to take over Lindale Candy Company soon arose, which furnished her with both independence and a venue through which she could sell her own candy.
The business recently expanded nearly 2,000 square feet and 30 feet of viewing windows were added so customers can watch the candy-making process. Looking toward the future, Mrs. Cagle aspires to offer shipping and open more storefronts. She has been featured in various media outlets highlighting her success.
Mrs. Cagle's civic interests include membership with the Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce and the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, both of which have contributed to her success as a business owner.
