She strives to diligently protect the culture of the gym and cultivate an atmosphere that centers their core values of empowerment for women, the elimination of body shaming and creating a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. Intown Stars Gymnastics has further collaborated with various nonprofit organizations, such as the Decatur Educational Foundation, by hosting fundraising events for student scholarships, energized by the participation of famous Olympians like Gabby Douglas and Laurie Hernandez.

Prior to embarking upon her professional path, Ms. Santiago distinguished herself as a Class Two competitive gymnast while attending middle school during the 1980s, and worked as a gymnastics coach throughout junior high school and college. She initially earned a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from the University of Georgia and a Master of Science in conflict management from Kennesaw State University. Following these accomplishments, she entered the field of nonprofit organization and operated as the director of the Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Fund Commission from 2003 to 2007. During this time, Ms. Santiago also found success as the owner of ASR Consulting, which provided conflict management training for corporations, attorneys and community organizations.
Ms. Santiago credits her success to her ability to make "micro choices" every day that serve to slowly and subtly change the course of her life. Additionally, she has been diligent in unlearning certain patterns that led her to various personal challenges. In the years since, she has learned to become financially independent and self-sufficient, and has been committed to carrying this ethos to her company and approach to community engagement.
