Mr. Weisberg has co-owned Cavaretta's Italian Deli since 2000. He channels his culinary expertise into preparing all of the food served in the deli and his management responsibilities run from logistics and inventory control to human resources and advertising. Cavaretta's Italian Deli has been in business for 61 years and Mr. Weisberg knows most of his customers by name. He pays attention to detail, maintains a high level of quality, and has an eye for food presentation. He is also known for connecting great food with excellent service. He has a long history of making people feel good and knows the importance of being humble and kind and giving back to the community. During the Covid pandemic Cavaretta's hosted several vaccine centers at the deli and donated many lunches to the medical staff and local hospitals.
Cavaretta's Italian Deli was named Best Sandwich Shop in 2020 and 2021, and Best Deli in 2021. The deli participates in the annual Taste of the Valley Food Event and it placed first in 2015, 2016 and 2019. Mr. Weisberg realizes that people notice his hard work. When the deli celebrated its 60th anniversary, he helped organize a large event in the community.
Mr. Weisberg graduated from El Camino Real High School and completed coursework at Pierce College and Moorpark College. He has been in the restaurant and hospitality industry since the age of fifteen. He worked as the manager of Green Acres Market catering company from 1995 to 1999 and as a counter clerk at Cavaretta's Italian Deli from 1985 to 1995. He believes he was able to accomplish what he has by coming into a business and learning how things are done; formal education and certificates were not needed.
Mr. Weisberg plans to continue working on becoming more efficient and reach more people. He would also like to be more involved with the community through charitable and educational work. He currently lends his time to Volunteers Cleaning Communities and Trail Mothers.
