With more than a decade of experience to her credit, Dr. Willingham serves as a licensed professional counselor in the state of South Carolina. Since 2008, she has provided individual and family mediation counseling, as well as for couples. Her years of expertise include previous employment at a private behavioral health center and as a psychotherapist counselor for various alcohol and drug abuse groups throughout the state of South Carolina. Furthermore, Dr. Willingham has worked with patients living with disabilities and special needs including homebound and school-aged children.
Outside of her primary endeavors, Dr. Willingham provides her services on a pro-bono basis in her community. She has also been preaching the gospel as an Evangelist Pastor since 2011. In 2020, Dr. Willingham was recognized with a Humanitarian Award by Church Women United of Columbia, South Carolina.
Among her local affiliations, Dr. Willingham is a member of the National Black Presbyterian Caucus and currently is the President of the National Black Presbyterian Women. Additionally, she is the president of the Fairfield-McClelland Chapter of NBPC in Columbia, SC, which is part of the southeast region. She also volunteers her time to raising funds for academic scholarships at her alma mater, Benedict College, in Columbia, South Carolina. In the coming years, Dr. Willingham hopes to establish a local health center in the area to better meet the needs of the underserved community. She serves on various boards pertaining to counseling and health education.
Dr. Willingham earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Benedict College in 1973. She later received a Master of Arts in Counseling at Webster University in 2000 and a Doctor of Professional Counseling at Mississippi College in 2017. Well qualified in her field, Dr. Willingham is a National Certified Counselor, Certified Recreational Therapist, and Licensed Addiction and Mediator.
