WEST ONEONTA, NY, October 25, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chalya N. Pudlewski has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
While coming of age, Ms. Pudlewski drew inspiration from the example of her mother, an English teacher who taught her the value of reading and education. Driven to provide a similar experience for her fellow students, she received a Bachelor of Arts in adolescent education from Elmira College and a Master of Arts in English literature and language from the State University of New York at Albany. Upon the commencement of her career, she began as a teacher's aide and substitute teacher at Windham Ashland Jewett Central School. She was also a teaching assistant with the Center for Talented Youth and Johns Hopkins University. Presently, Ms. Pudlewski is an eighth and ninth grade English teacher at Cooperstown Central High School.
In addition to teaching in her current position, Ms. Pudlewski has found success as an advisor for the school literary magazine and the academic quiz team. She also serves on the National Honor Society Faculty Council, the Instructional Support Team and the Technology Committee.
Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Pudlewski has been most proud of the students with whom she was able to make a connection. When one of her students on the quiz team was suspended from school, she decided to make him the captain of the team upon his return, which went on to compete at the nationals. In addition, one of her students secured an internship with the ACLU after she wrote her a letter of recommendation, and another received a prestigious internship at a law firm. As a respected voice in her field, Ms. Pudlewski was asked to deliver the keynote address at a scholar recognition banquet in 2018. Most recently, she received a Pulitzer Center Teacher Fellowship.
As a dedicated member of her community, Ms. Pudlewski is active with numerous local educational and charitable organizations, such as the Cooperstown Foundation for Excellence in Education and the local food pantry. Professionally, she maintains her affiliation with the New York State Association for Computers and Technologies in Education, the National Council of Teachers in English and the New York State English Council, as well as the honorable societies of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Eta Sigma. Throughout her career, Ms. Pudlewski has attributed her standout success to her supportive environment of colleagues and administrators. Looking toward the future, she plans to continue pursuing her passion as an educator.
