ST. LOUIS, MO, October 26, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Merrill Griff has been included in Marquis Who's Who. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in geography from Clark University where he was inducted into the Delta Phi Alpha German Honor Society, Mr. Griff began his career with a research group in nuclear cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He subsequently attained a Master in Public Health in health care management from Boston University. He worked in public health in Chicago, Illinois and later returned to nuclear medicine. Over the years Mr. Griff also gained valuable experience in the field as a chief technologist and administrator for the University of Zurich Hospital, Zurich Switzerland. Returning to the United States, he served as the lead technologist in nuclear cardiology for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and thereafter worked as a PET/CT technologist for the molecular imaging department of Massachusetts General Brigham Hospital. Besides his clinical work, Mr. Griff conducted cardiac and brain research in PET/CT imaging and was the coordinator at Mass General Brigham for the National Oncologic PET Registry.
Mr. Griff is licensed with the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety and holds a Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist license. He is registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in nuclear medicine and computerized tomography and he is also registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board in nuclear medicine. Mr. Griff taught as an adjunct professor at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy (now Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences) and also taught at several other institutions including Regis College, Gateway Community College, Triton College and at many professional meetings.
Furthermore, Mr. Griff's published an article "Radiation Exposure to Sonographers from Flourine-18-FDG PET Patients and co authored a chapter in Clinical Molecular Anatomic Imaging, namely, PET, PET/CT and SPECT/CT. He won third prize for an Oral Presentation at the 46th annual meeting of the Society of Nuclear Medicine.
Outside of his primary work in the field, Mr. Griff is past president of The Waltham Foundation, a charitable organization that tends to the needs in Waltham, Massachusetts and is still an active member. He also won an international stipend from the Goethe Institut to study German in Berlin.
In the coming years, Mr. Griff intends to remain active with Massachusetts General Brigham Hospital.
