ESTERO, FL, October 26, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Larry Schotz has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
As a child, Mr. Schotz drew inspiration from his father, Alex Schotz, an inventor and engineer. When he was in kindergarten, his father often picked him up from school and took him to his laboratory, where his imagination continued to blossom. Over the years, he fostered his love of engineering and eventually earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Upon graduating, Mr. Schotz worked with Sherwood Electronic Laboratories, a hi-fi company in Chicago, for a year.
Unhappy with Sherwood's decision to outsource much of its manufacturing, Mr. Schotz elected to establish his own business in 1974. He was inspired to create something that could be locally produced in a cost-effective manner, which led to his invention of the microprocessor-controlled FM tuner. Over time, however, Mr. Schotz decided to leave the manufacturing world and focused on establishing a successful engineering company, gaining valuable expertise as the chief executive officer of L&S Compliance, LS Research LLC and L&M Research LLC, where he remains active today.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Schotz has received numerous patents, including for a digital wireless speaker system, an analog spread spectrum wireless speaker system, a system for short-range signals using high frequency carriers, a telephone controller apparatus, an in-line switchable audio enhancement device for a CD adapter, a tuned radio apparatus and more. Among his accomplishments, he is most proud to have developed the first microprocessor-controlled FM tuner in 1975, when he was just 25 years old. Looking toward the future, Mr. Schotz intends to experience the continued growth of his career.
