Possessed of a deep desire to help others, especially children, Ms. Temlong has long felt compelled to pursue a career in psychology or social work. Observing that many children have difficulty expressing themselves due to a lack of trustworthy adult figures in their life, which can lead to neglect and other forms of abuse, she resolved to bridge the gap between adults and children in order to help strengthen families. Attending Howard University, Ms. Temlong received a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Master of Arts in social work.
Ms. Temlong currently works with adults and conducts group therapy sessions at Kaiser Permanente. She also has experience working with children and families. She established a self care and wellness business called iXhale Wellness Center where she provides self love coaching, activities for people to engage in self care and overall wellness tips. Ms. Temlong is the co-founder of Leads, Ladies Empowering and Determined to Serve (our community).
Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Temlong is most proud to have received a clinical license, since it represented a significant milestone in her professional journey. She now maintains her affiliation with the National Association of Black Social Workers and the International Association of Women. She volunteers with Esther's Preparation Room, a global non profit organization that focuses on mentorship, leadership and spirituality. It supports organizations in Africa to provide health care needs for nursing mothers and babies. Ms. Temlong has attributed her standout success to her parents, who taught her the value of hard work, dedication and faith. Looking toward the future, Ms. Temlong plans to continue evolving in her career.
