Her career history, which includes over two decades of expertise in pharmaceuticals, as well as corporate and operational management, has given her the ability to continue providing guidance in various areas of the health care business. Notably, Ms. DeLawrence also serves as a board director for the organization.
In addition to her position at Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Ms. DeLawrence is the vice president of clinical operations for Ottobock Patient Care North America, where she is responsible for building its national network. Headquartered in Berlin, Ottobock is a German prosthetics and orthotics company that has over 350 patient care locations worldwide. In this role, Ms. DeLawrence is leading the operational post-merger integration and greenfield growth to build the Ottobock US presence in patient care and expand this premier global prosthetic and orthotic organization.
Beginning her career in 1984 as a systems engineer for GE's aerospace division, Ms. DeLawrence left the organization after eight years to become a manager for PriceWaterhouse in 1992. She transitioned into pharmaceuticals at AstraMerck, gaining experience in communications, sales and marketing operations, and product launch management leading into her last position as the executive director of commercial operations at AstraZeneca. Ms. DeLawrence subsequently held leadership positions with Dover Communications, a medical education company, before becoming a founding manager and chief operating officer of Prism Pharmaceuticals Inc., a start-up company in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. In this capacity, she was instrumental in operations, manufacturing, marketing and more, between 2004 and 2011. Ms. DeLawrence took these experiences and formed a consulting practice where she worked closely with technical and scientific entrepreneurs to strengthen their operations and raise capital for growth through 2015, when she joined Ability Prosthetics and Orthotics.
Passionate in her endeavors, Ms. DeLawrence credits much of her success to her personality and strong operational management expertise. Throughout the course of her career, she has striven to exhibit a genuine, caring, thoughtful and trustworthy demeanor while delivering operational excellence. Ms. DeLawrence also believes in sharing what she has learned, especially with those who are eager to move forward in their own careers. Supporting her community, she has most recently served as the director for Sean's Helping Hands in 2019. The organization promotes physical and nutritional wellness, as well as environmental health, at area elementary schools by connecting with local brands and other nonprofits.
Ms. DeLawrence holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Philadelphia University. Supporting her professional endeavors, she is a prominent member of the American Orthotics and Prosthetics Association. In 2020, Ms. DeLawrence was named as the O&P Woman of the Year.
