Ms. Moltzen is a program manager for the Bronx Health REACH initiative at the Institute of Family Health. Much of her work is aimed toward improving the food system of New York to ensure marginalized communities have access to fresh, affordable food. She also advocates for nutritional education in schools and supports other policy and systems change endeavors brought forward by members of the Bronx Health REACH Coalition. Well qualified in her field, Ms. Moltzen is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Furthermore, she is a Convener of the Interfaith Public Health Network, a new organization she co-founded to motivate people of faith to be agents of change in transforming communities into ones that promote health and well-being for all. She has been a Re:Generate Fellow with the Food, Health, and Ecological Well-Being Program of Wake Forest University School of Divinity, and is a current Fellow with Abrahamic House in Washington, D.C., a national, multifaith incubator for social change.
During an earlier stage of her career, Ms. Moltzen worked as a program and nutrition coordinator, a dietetic and nutrition intern and a mathematics and science tutor. Civically, she was a member of the Franciscan Earth Corps of the Franciscan Action Network and has volunteered with Oxfam Action Corps NYC, the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, and New York Faith & Justice. A prolific writer, she has written and contributed to a number of published works. To wit, Ms. Moltzen is the author of "Integration of Nutritional Genomics into the Dietetics Curriculum at the University of Delaware," "Faith Communities Leading the Way Towards Healthy, Sustainable Food Systems," and several more.
Ms. Moltzen obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics, with minors in Biology, Chemistry and Spanish, from the University of Delaware. Thereafter, she earned a Master of Public Health in Community Public Health with an International Community Health concentration. She has received numerous accolades during the course of her career, including a College of Health Sciences Dean's Award for Outstanding Service, a Delaware Dietetic Association Student Award, the Barbara Quilling Graduate Fellowship Award, the University of Delaware Book Award and the New York State Dietetic Association Ruth Harmon Award. Moreover, Ms. Moltzen has been distinguished amongst the 40 Under 40 Rising Stars by the Hunter College New York City Food Policy Center Class of 2020.
