Originally joining Northwestern in 2015 as an associate and intern, Mr. Hunter later became a title financial advisor in 2016 and a college unit director in 2019. Apart from meeting with clients, he oversees the internship programs while providing mentorship, attending leadership meetings and handling various administrative tasks. Grateful to his managing partner at Northwestern, as well as his family, Mr. Hunter is fortunate to have enjoyed their support and guidance over the past several years. Driven to grow in his position, he aspires to lead his own team of diverse, talented and productive advisors as a district manager. Likewise, Mr. Hunter hopes to encourage more athletes and people of color to join the industry.
Active in community affairs, Mr. Hunter has served as the assistant football coach for Fountain-Fort Carson School District Eight since 2015 and is a former Crush Basketball trainer. He is also a board member for the Fostering Hope Foundation and spent a year as a promotor for the Be the Match National Marrow Donor Program during 2014. Mr. Hunter has benefited from membership with several key professional organizations. Among them, he is a member of the Financial Planners Association and the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute Alumni and is a board member for Downtown Ventures. He previously served on the board of Reach Pikes Peak. His passion to serve professional athletes stems from his own background in athletics (he played on a NCAA Division II Championship football team) and was recently inducted into the CSU-Pueblo Athletics Hall of Fame.
Highly educated, Mr. Hunter received a Bachelor of Science in economics at the University of Colorado-Boulder in 2014 and a Master of Business Administration in management at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs in 2017. He is licensed in life and health insurance and is certified as a financial planner through the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. A finalist for the Mayor's Young Leader Award, Mr. Hunter also received recognition with a Professional Award from Northwestern Mutual. In 2021 he was selected for the 2021 Rising Star Award from Colorado Springs.
