A seasoned occupational health and safety professional with a proven track record of success in program development and implementation, Mr. Hinton has excelled as the President/CEO of Arrow Safety, LLC, a safety consulting and training firm that he founded in 2020. Previously, and most recently, he served as a Construction Safety and Health Contractor and NIOSH Science Blog Contributor for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from 2020 to 2021.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Hinton worked as the Corporate Director of Safety for Industrial Service Solutions (Ft. Myers, FL); Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and HazMat Officer with the Jefferson County Fire Service (Louisville, KY); Global Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability Manager for the Dallas Group of America (Jeffersonville, IN); and Assistant Safety Manager for JB Swift (Louisville, KY). Between 2012 and 2016, he also gained valuable expertise in the field as an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist for Industrial Safety and Training Services (Louisville, KY).
While pursuing his professional career, Mr. Hinton earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in occupational safety and health, both from Columbia Southern University (Orange Beach, AL) in 2016 and 2017, respectively, as well as a diploma in Auto/Diesel Technology from Nashville Auto Diesel College (Nashville, TN) in 2008. Additionally, he is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), OSHA-Authorized Outreach Trainer, Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC), Kentucky/IFAS Level II Firefighter, and BLS Instructor, just to name a few. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Occupational Health and Safety at Capitol Technology University (Laurel, MD).
Alongside his work, Mr. Hinton gives back to his community as an Intelligence Liaison Officer (ILO) for the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security, beginning in 2019, as well as member of the Kentucky Baptist Convention's Disaster Relief Team since 2018. Mr. Hinton also volunteered as an EMT for the Kentucky Department of Public Health's Medical Reserve Corps. From 2019 to 2021. In light of his professional expertise, Mr. Hinton has written several peer-reviewed articles, including "Hearing Loss Among Construction Workers: Chemicals Can Make It Worse" (NIOSH Science Blog) and the conference presentation, "Atmospheric Hazards Within Confined Spaces: What You Don't Know CAN Hurt You" (World Safety Organization).
For his outstanding body of work, Mr. Hinton received five Life Saving Awards through Buechel Fire/EMS between 2014 and 2015, the "Firefighter of the Year" award through Buechel Fire-EMS in 2014, and was nominated as one of the "Top 10 Health and Safety Influencers" by HSE People in 2021. In the coming years, Mr. Hinton intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career.
