Headquartered in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, he is an expert in design and planning, project management, engineering and various types of construction projects, defects and CPM schedule analysis, among other aspects of the field. Having led a distinguished career in architecture, which began in 1966 when he was first hired as a design drafter for W.W. Alexander & Associates in Houston, Mr. Wheatley later obtained various progressive positions, from Project Architect to a Project Manager for several firms in Texas and Pennsylvania. In 1984, he established Wheatley and Associates in Houston, followed by the formation of Wheatley US Limited in Pennsylvania in 2000 and Wheatley UK Limited in London between 2001 and 2015. In 2012 he organized Wheatley SPI, LLC, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wheatley US Limited to deal with security, protection and intelligence assignments. Additionally, Mr. Wheatley represented MDC Systems UK Ltd. as its chairperson from 1999 to 2001.
With respect to his consulting business, Mr. Wheatley notably had the opportunity to oversee technical consulting for the litigation of a project in Kabirwala, Pakistan that involved disputes in the construction of a major power plant. He also led a construction project in southern Iran in 1977-1979 that provided British and American intelligence communities with intelligence and that involved gathering intelligence information from Iraq. Other intelligence assignments and operations to his credit were completed in areas of Vietnam, Cambodia, Czechoslovakia, Germany, the Soviet Union and, most of the countries in the Middle East.
Active in various civic engagements during the 1980s, Mr. Wheatley served as a delegate for the Texas Republican Conventions in 1980, 1982 and 1984. Years later, he served as a committee member on behalf of the Republican Committee in Lower Merion Township and Narberth, Pennsylvania, from 2005 to 2014. Musically inclined, Mr. Wheatley has composed piano solos, organ solos, string trios and chorales since 1961. He is also the author of the 2018 novel, titled The Man Who Was Never There, as well its sequel, The House of Beloved Skillful Beauty, due for release in early 2022, as well as various articles contributed to professional publications.
Having held an indelible passion for his field since he was a young man, Mr. Wheatley began drawing and sketching buildings, and was often encouraged by his father to study architecture after high school. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy's Officer Candidate School and began his military career in 1962 before serving as an intelligence officer between 1965 and 2009. Mr. Wheatley studied for several years at Rice University between 1962 and 1966, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Saint Thomas in 1972.
Supported by several industry-related organizations, Mr. Wheatley is presently a member of the American Institute of Architects, the International Code Council, the British-American Business Council, the Association of Former Intelligence Officers and several military organizations, such as the American Legion. He is also an associate member of the American Bar Association. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Wheatley has been cited in approximately 35 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business and Who's Who in the World.
