Dr. Johnson served as a business dean at four universities.
JACKSONVILLE, FL, November 11, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Edward Alden Johnson, PhD has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Johnson served as a business dean at four universities: the Rochester Institute of Technology, Texas Christian University, the University of Colorado at Boulder, and the University of North Florida. He also occupied the positions as interim vice president of University Relations and interim executive director of the University Foundation at the University of North Florida.
Dr. Johnson obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology from Antioch College in 1960. In 1962, he earned a master's degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University, and in 1968 he was awarded a PhD in management from Michigan State University.
In 1966, he began his career as an assistant professor in the College of Commerce at West Virginia University. He subsequently served as a professor of management at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Texas Christian University, the University of Colorado at Boulder, and the University of North Florida from which he retired in 2008 with emeritus status.
He also served as a visiting professor at the University of Provence at Aix-en-Provence in France and at the Management Institute in Kingston, Jamaica.
Dr. Johnson received numerous awards for his outstanding and highly innovative teaching. These included two national awards, two university-wide awards, and eight college of business awards.
Dr. Johnson was actively involved in scholarly research, which was published in 12 academic and professional journals. He presented academic papers at conferences throughout the world.
In recognition of his academic accomplishments, he was selected for membership in Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, Delta Sigma Pi, Golden Key Society, Phi Chi Theta, and Sigma Iota Epsilon.
Aside from his academic pursuits, Dr. Johnson served on numerous business and non-profit boards of directors, as well as being appointed to government commissions.
