Ms. Holmquist aims to complete her bachelor's degree and educate more students in her field by working with community colleges in her area.
COOKEVILLE, TN, November 12, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jill Holmquist has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. At the age of 18, Ms. Holmquist was tragically involved in a motor vehicle accident that put her on a ventilator for a period of time. Inspired by how the medical community worked together, she excelled as a veterinary technician for more than 15 years. As her children grew, she returned to the medical field and decided upon nuclear medicine specifically because of her skills in analysis, which she inherited from her father, who was a skilled engineer. Ms. Holmquist currently excels as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Since 2010, Ms. Holmquist has educated incoming students, performed studies on patients, calibrated and ordered doses, built a platform for the Paragon radiology system and conducted nuclear stress tests at the aforementioned medical center. Noted as a board-certified Radiation Safety Specialist, Position Emission Tomography, and a Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, she has furthered her expertise by earning an Associate of Science from Santa Fe Community College. Ms. Holmquist is presently pursuing a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Tech University.
In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Holmquist is affiliated with the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, through which she has been appointed as the secretary of the Southeastern chapter. For her professional achievements, she has received a Mallinckrodt Award of Excellence and accepted the Paul Cole scholarship. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is incredibly proud of becoming the only Nuclear Medicine Technologist at her facility who has obtained advanced certification in Positron Emission Tomography and most recently Radiation Safety.
