Initially fueled by his desire to eliminate HIV and AIDS within communities of color, Mr. Boyd celebrates a successful career in healthcare. He strives to serve the mission of the aforementioned organization every day.
Mr. Boyd began his career in healthcare in 1995 upon accepting a position in medical billing and medical claims preparation at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Though there was not much information on the HIV epidemic available at the time, he steadily progressed in the healthcare field, gradually advancing into management roles. He continued to study how communities of color were impacted by a lack of mental health resources, and made it his goal to meet the needs of the people as a community leader. Mr. Boyd subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management from Delaware State University in 1997.
Notably, Mr. Boyd established himself as an assistant dean of the Temple University School of Social Work from 2004 to 2006. Shortly thereafter, he excelled as a regional practice administrator at the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network from 2006 to 2008. He additionally served as the director of the Office of Health Equity of the Pennsylvania Department of Health from 2008 to 2011 and the president, chief executive officer and consultant of JB Consulting and JB Productions from 2011 to 2013. Between 2013 and 2016, Mr. Boyd held various management positions with Mercy Health, formerly known as Catholic Health Partners, before being recruited as the director of diversity, inclusion and language services at TriHealth from 2016 to 2019.
Mr. Boyd is proud that The Crossroads Center is recognized as the #1 Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center by Help.org in addition to one of the Top 200 in the Nation by Newsweek.com. He has further flourished as a member of the National Association of Health Services Executives as well as an advisory board member for the Salvation Army. Previously, Mr. Boyd contributed to the Family Nurturing Center, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, the Lincoln Heights Baptist Church and the Healthcare Connection.
Mr. Boyd aims to extend The Crossroads Center's community outreach in the coming years. His goal is to employ more people and provide more resources to the community at large. Mr. Boyd attributes his success to his educated, dedicated and committed team.
