Having cultivated an interest in legal service since coming of age, Ms. Johnson attended Coe College, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, literature and public speaking in 1994. Continuing her academic efforts apace, she graduated from Widener University in 1997 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. Ms. Johnson subsequently began her career as a court certified legal intern with Central Pennsylvania Legal Aid.
Following the conclusion of her internship, Ms. Johnson became an assistant district attorney for the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office and served in several associate and administrative attorney roles, after which she accepted the role of a managing attorney at both Schwerd & Schwerd and Edwards & Johnson. In her current capacity as the owner of her own private practice, Daniel Johnson & Associates, she specializes in all areas of family law, including divorce, domestic violence, custody disputes, adoptions, child modifications, legitimations and paternity actions.
In a career suffused with highlights, Ms. Johnson is most proud to have lifted so many families out of crisis. For her efforts, she received the Lawyers of Distinction Award, and was named as a Clients' Choice Attorney. Furthermore, she was bestowed with the National Black Lawyers Top 100 Award. Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Johnson is gratified by the number of favorable outcomes she has secured for her clients, for which she has gained a laudable reputation.
In 2022, Ms. Johnson has announced her run for Cobb County Superior Court Judge. If elected, she plans to leverage her expertise, experience and knowledge to contribute to her community on a much wider scale. Ms. Johnson has attributed her professional success to hard work, dedication and her empathetic nature.
As a respected voice in her field, Ms. Johnson has written several legal texts on a variety of subjects, including on legal separation in the state of Georgia, nuptial agreements, immigration reform and child custody, and guardianship, among others. To remain aware of developments in her field, she maintains her affiliation with the Gate City Bar Association, Cobb County Bar Association, Cobb County Chamber of Commerce and the East Cobb Business Association.
