In 2021 he was bestowed the high honor of being named the first Ultimate Wood Floor Guy by Wood Business Magazine.
CAMP HILL, PA, November 17, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anthony Frank Magaro has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After receiving an Associate of Arts from Harrisburg Area Community College in 1981, he continued his education completing his Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Policy from Pennsylvania State University in 1983. Mr. Magaro began his career as an attorney general special investigator with the Bureau of Consumer Protection. Simultaneously, Mr. Magaro operated a successful painting business. That business transitioned to specialize in wood floors and furniture refinishing, establishing Mr. Sandman Inc. in 2000. Mr. Magaro owns both the trademark and wordmark for "Mr. Sandman" and currently serves as the chief executive officer and president. Later Mr. Magaro became a Certified Wood Floor Inspector in 2007 through the NWFA. While working in the field for several years, he realized that he was only able to diagnose client problems, as opposed to finding solutions for them. He eventually decided not to renew his certification, and focused on fixing problems. Mr. Magaro went on to restore and maintain his grandfather's ranch house, which was built in 1958 along with over 4500 local properties. In 2021 he was bestowed the high honor of being named the first Ultimate Wood Floor
Guy by Wood Business Magazine.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Magaro is most proud to have invented the Wet Sand System, a method of sanding and refinishing floors that has been a great advantage to his business. His invention, which is a method for wood refinishing, was awarded the patent in 2019 from The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. As an accomplished professional, Mr. Magaro was nominated for the Best Residential Application by the National Wood Flooring Association in 2004. He also completed the state exam for lead abatement, as well as the state exam for magisterial district justices. Previously, in 1990, he was elected as a Pennsylvania State Constable.
Presently, Mr. Magaro donates tools, materials and construction vehicles to his local Habitat for Humanity. He also volunteers his time and materials to the restoration of the foyer at a Catholic church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In accounting for his success, Mr. Magaro credits the influence of his parents, who worked hard and taught him valuable skills early in life as well as his wife Jacqueline whom he considers to be the heartbeat of Mr. Sandman, Inc. In the coming years, he plans to merge his company in order to find more success for his patented system.
