INDIANAPOLIS, IN, November 18, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Marshall has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Driven to provide a better education for his children as well as those in his community, Mr. Marshall pursued a career in education. Having been dissatisfied with the educational landscape in his area, he initially operated on the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of being an opponent of charter schools. Additionally, Mr. Marshall believes that his own academic experience saved his life, as he was raised in some of the roughest areas in Indianapolis.
During the early years of his career, Mr. Marshall gained valuable expertise in the field as the Douglass Park manager for the city of Indianapolis. He subsequently served as the director of team mentoring for 100 Black Men of Indianapolis, the director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis and the senior director of programs for The Center for Leadership Development. Backed by his extensive experience in budgeting, grants administration, organizational planning and strategic development, Mr. Marshall currently excels as the founder and executive director of Vanguard Collegiate of Indianapolis.
As the founder of Vanguard Collegiate, Mr. Marshall is responsible for human resources matters, makes final decisions regarding curriculum, oversees marketing, community outreach and engagement and creates strategic partnerships with people in the neighborhood. Before establishing the aforementioned company, he accrued $1 million in grant funding. Since its inception in 2018, 100 percent of scholars at the Vanguard Collegiate of Indianapolis displayed growth in all four reporting areas of NWEA-MAP.
An expert in his field, Mr. Marshall initially earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Morehouse College. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Marshall is affiliated with Building Excellent Schools and the Indiana Wesleyan University Educator School Advisory Council, with which he is a member of the board.
In light of his professional excellence, Mr. Marshall was recognized as a 2019 Repairer of the Breach through the Watch the Throne Awards. Honored among the 2021 Black Innovators on the Rise through Innopower Indy Inc., he was also celebrated among the 2021 Forty Under 40 through the Indianapolis Business Journal. Looking ahead, Mr. Marshall aims to establish a second location for Vanguard Collegiate of Indianapolis and build a new home for the existing location while pursuing a law degree.
