Dr. Ghaly obtained Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees, with high honors, from Ain Shams University School of Medicine, Cairo, in 2007.
Dr. Ghaly provided care as a general practitioner with the Egyptian Ministry of Health Hospitals in Cairo from 2009 to 2010 and with the Egyptian Military Hospitals between 2010 and 2011. He joined the intensive care unit residency program of the National Institute of Diabetes & Endocrine Diseases in Cairo from 2011 until 2013. After immigrating to the United States, he served as an Associate Research Scientist in the Cardiovascular Diseases section with the Yale University School of Medicine from 2014 to 2016. He completed his training as an internal medicine resident physician in Waterbury Hospital, Connecticut, for the Yale-Waterbury internal medicine residency program between 2016 and 2019. Since 2019, Dr. Ghaly has served as a Clinical Instructor then as Assistant Clinical Professor for Yale University School of Medicine with medical education responsibilities as a faculty member of the Yale-Waterbury Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Ghaly excelled in medical education with special interest in teaching point of care ultrasound and procedural skills. He supervised a specialty clinic focused on optimizing patients' care shortly after discharge from the hospital. Other academic interests include but are not limited to chronic diseases management and obesity medicine. Equipped with leadership skills, Dr. Ghaly was elected as an executive board member for the Coptic Orthodox Church in Cheshire, Connecticut.
