Well regarded in his field, Mr. Tolsma has earned distinction as a senior partner of ELO CPAs & Advisors since 2020. He previously served the aforementioned firm as a managing partner from 2016 to 2020 and a partner between 1986 and 2015. From 1984 until 1986, Mr. Tolsma found success as an auditor of the South Dakota Department of Legislative Audit.
Civically engaged, Mr. Tolsma has notably volunteered as a board member and the chairman of the finance committee of Avera Queen of Peace Hospital since 2017, as an assistant boys' basketball coach of Mitchell Christian School since 1998 and as a board member for the Christian Education Association. A compliance assurance board member of the National Association of State Board of Accountancy, he also contributes as a board member of the South Dakota Board of Accountancy. Previously, Mr. Tolsma served as a past president of the South Dakota CPA Society.
Prior to embarking on his impressive career, Mr. Tolsma pursued an education at Northwestern College in Iowa, where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1984. In light of all his subsequent accomplishments, he was presented with a Distinguished Service Award from the South Dakota Board of Accountancy in 2013. Moreover, he was named as an Outstanding Committee Chair by the South Dakota CPA Society. Looking towards the future, Mr. Tolsma would like to use his skills and expertise to further avail himself on behalf of his community.
