Christopher Leet considers the highlight of his career to have been establishing the cardiac rehabilitation program in both of his hospitals

After earning a Bachelor of Science in chemistry with a minor in biology from the George Washington University, Dr. Leet obtained a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia in 1972. He subsequently completed a residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Virginia from 1972 to 1975. Dr. Leet also pursued a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the George Washington University from 1975 to 1977.
A fellow at the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Leet has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Washingtonian Magazine for 12 consecutive years. He is also the former president of his local chapter of the American Heart Association. Dr. Leet further served as a volunteer doctor at a free clinic for over a decade, a member of the board of directors for the Manassas Ballet Company and a committee board member for the Hilton Performing Arts Center at George Mason University.
Dr. Leet began his career as a cardiologist operating out of a private cardiology practice before working as a doctor in the Novant Health UVA Health System at the Prince William Medical Center. He later found success as the owner of Prince William Cardiology Associates. Dr. Leet eventually excelled as the chief of the intensive care unit and the chief of cardiology with the aforementioned company until his retirement in 2012.
In light of his impressive career, Dr. Leet attributes his success to his hard work. He considers the highlight of his career to have been establishing the cardiac rehabilitation program in both of his hospitals which he used after suffering a heart attack himself. He was able to share his story of recovery and his use of alternative therapy techniques, such as yoga and meditation, with the Washington Post and PBS. Dr. Leet was acknowledged as vital to developing a cardiac program in Budapest through a grant from the United States Agency for International Development.
