Mr. Hart served on Active Duty in the United States Army for three years prior to moving to the Reserves and rising to the rank of Colonel.
As a US Army Senior Executive he served as Technical Director and Deputy Director for the Army Intelligence Agency during Operation Desert Storm in 1990. With his leadership, Mr. Hart routinely provided valuable information to General H. Norman Schwarzkopf Jr., who led coalition forces during the Gulf War.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Hart was employed in various capacities, including as the Chief Architect of the National Reconnaissance Office, as the Director of Intelligence, Advisor for the Counter-IED Operations Integration Center and as Senior Acquisition Executive of the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization. Notably, he also served as a senior executive within the Department of Defense. Mr. Hart's areas of expertise reside in intelligence and systems engineering. Since 2007, he has acted as a consultant to several committees and councils.
Mr. Hart obtained a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois in 1968 and completed engineering coursework through the military, including command and control, senior information warfare applications and international security programs. He has provided service as the Senior Vice President for Operations and a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America. He is an Eagle Scout and Master Mason. For his contributions, Mr. Hart has been the recipient of two Meritorious Civilian Service awards from the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. Likewise, the Army has presented him with the Legion of Merit Award and a National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation.
Mr. Hart is married to the former Margaret Porento of Chicago, Illinois, who is a Master Gardner and quilter. They have one daughter: Liz Hart who is one of the country's foremost event planners.
