After earning his undergraduate degree, Dr. Wächtler studied at the University of Frankfurt, from which he obtained a Doctor of Medicine in 1984. Additional educational pursuits to his credit include a residency at the German Heart Center in Munich between 1985 and 1987. A diplomate of the University of Frankfurt, Dr. Wächtler holds several certifications in his field as well, particularly in hepatology and infectious diseases.
Dr. Wächtler has been fortunate to be associated with several prominent professional organizations throughout his career. Among them, he is a member of the German Society of Infectious Diseases, the German Society of Internal Medicine and the German Society for Gastroenterology, Digestive, and Metabolic Diseases.
