Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Dr. Counelis obtained a Bachelor of Art with Honors in Molecular Biology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1990 and a Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1995, where he was elected to membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed a two-year fellowship in Cerebral Blood Flow at the University of California, Los Angeles. Notably, he completed neurosurgery residency and a complex spine fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Counelis attributes his success to passion, perseverance, and dedication to his patients.
