Since 2020, Mrs. Ward has thrived as an emergency medicine physician assistant at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist – Lexington Medical Center. Although she is trained in critical care, focusing on diagnosing and treating severe injuries and life-threatening medical conditions, she prides herself in being capable of seeing any patient or complaint that walks through the door. Alongside her responsibilities at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center, Mrs. Ward has found further success providing TeleHealth assessments for the Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center and Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center since 2019. She previously honed her expertise within the Cone Health hospital system, where she rotated through three emergency departments and managed various areas of acuity. Prior to her medical career, Mrs. Ward worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative. After 3 years in the industry, she decided to further her education, earning a Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Alabama in 2016.
In order to remain aware of the latest developments in the physician assistant community, Mrs. Ward maintains active affiliations with the American Academy of Physicians Assistants and the Piedmont Association of Physician Assistants. She attributes a great deal of her success to the support of her friends and family members. In the coming years, Mrs. Ward intends to devote more of her attention to educating her industry peers about the vital role of physician assistants in hospitals, as well as their extensive training in myriad areas of medicine.
