HAMMONTON, NJ, December 10, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John E. Wiessner, writing as author Jay Dubya, the pen name being a corruption of his initials J.W., has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Over the course of 50 years, Mr. Wiessner, writing as "Jay Dubya", has authored 55 books spanning a broad range of genres and writing styles. His works of fiction include a young adult fantasy trilogy, numerous satirical parodies of classic pieces of literature, and a host of short stories and novellas inspired by his passions for science fiction and paranormal themes. Mr. Wiessner has also authored at least two works of nonfiction: "So Ya' Wanna Be A Teacher" and "Random Articles and Manuscripts."
Alongside his prolific writing career, Mr. Wiessner had taught English for Hammonton Public Schools for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1999. From 1967 to 1981, he found further success as the co-owner of Dealers Choice Amusement Arcade in Ocean City, Maryland, and New Horizon Beach Shop, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. During his tenure with Hammonton Public Schools, Mr. Wiessner additionally served in a number of capacities for the Hammonton Education Association, such as a building representative, the teachers' head negotiator, and the vice president. Also, from 1986 to 2004, Mr. Wiessner was the summer field manager for Atlantic Blueberry Company, the world's largest cultivated blueberry farm, with operations in Hammonton and Mays Landing, New Jersey.
A former president of the Hammonton Lions Club, Mr. Wiessner was celebrated as the Hammonton Lion of the Year in 1979. In 2009, he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award, which is among the most prestigious honors within Lions Club International. He attributes a great deal of his success to his notable work ethic. Mr. Wiessner continues to pursue his creative endeavors with the utmost determination, refusing to abandon each project until his work is complete.
