After earning a Bachelor of Science in biology, with a concentration in chemistry, from Saint Mary's College in 1986, Ms. Timmins obtained a Master of Science in systems management, with a concentration in decision analysis, from the University of Southern California in 1991. In 1988, she obtained a graduate certificate in safety and health from the University of Southern California Irvine and, in 1991, she earned a graduate certificate in human resources management from her alma mater, the University of Southern California.
Ms. Timmins commenced her career as a chemist for Epoxylite in 1985 until departing from the company in 1991. Subsequently, she found success as a senior safety specialist for NAPP Systems, Inc., from 1991 to 1995. Since 1995, she has been affiliated with DEKRA, a consulting group for safety and sustainability. Likewise, since 2016, she has excelled as the company's senior vice president of strategic consulting. Alongside her primary endeavors, Ms. Timmins is a noted member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
Demonstrating versatility in her profession, Ms. Timmins authored the book "I Keep Myself Safe," a children's book about safety. She attributes her success to her hard work, curiosity and passion for her profession. She is especially proud of helping organizations achieve safety excellence. She notes that, in her line of work, she values the opportunity to partner with operational leaders in protecting people, optimizing how organizations function, and in the building strong positive cultures.
