ANDERSON, IN, January 06, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nancy Butz Graham has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
For more than 45 years, Ms. Graham excelled as the owner and secretary-treasurer of the Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home and Crematory. Prior to her retirement in 2013, she focused on administrative tasks related to bookkeeping and accounting at the aforementioned funeral home, which was originally established by her grandfather in 1929. Though her family's business has since been sold, Ms. Graham continues to share her industry expertise with the new owners as a consultant. In her capacity as a funeral home professional, she took a hands-on role in comforting the bereaved, and she still maintains that role today.
In addition to her responsibilities at the Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home and Crematory, Ms. Graham was active as a board member for the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce for 10 years, during which time she was appointed as the organization's chairperson in 1997. She is also designated as the director emeritus of the Anderson Branch YMCA and the St. John's Health System Development Board. The former treasurer of the Madison County Community Foundation, Ms. Graham maintains her affiliation with the Daughters of the American Revolution and regularly contributes to numerous charitable organizations and nonprofits such as the United Way, March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society. She and her husband are contributors to the Alternatives, an organization for abused women, and they co-chaired a capital-raising campaign for the organization to support the construction of a new building.
In 2001, the Madison County Business Hall of Fame celebrated Ms. Graham as a business laureate. She had previously received the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce's prestigious Athena Award in 1994. Ms. Graham is particularly proud to be among the first female inductees of the Rotary Club of Anderson, which has since distinguished her as a Paul Harris fellow and honored her dedication to her community with the Elmo A. Funk Ideal of Service Award. On a personal level, she is married with one son and one grandson, both of whom make her proud every day.
