Often utilizing the fiberglass bodies of the Volkswagen and other parts when designing many of his buggies, Carolina Dune Buggies Inc. likewise stocks various dune buggies, new and used Volkswagen parts, kit cars, sand rails, and other parts for sale. With a thriving business that is now recognized worldwide, Mr. Edwards has been fortunate to have never had to advertise, as his world-class service has helped propel Carolina Dune Buggies Inc. through word-of-mouth exposure.
After graduating from high school, Mr. Edwards worked for several large companies for approximately 15 years. He eventually became a machine engineer and conducted automation work for substantial organizations such as R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, Procter & Gamble, and Abbott Labs. Appointed as the chairman of the board of the Eden Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Edwards has been additionally involved in his community as a board member for the local YMCA, the past president of the Eden Rotary Club and the past secretary of the Eden Gideons.
Mr. Edwards completed 1,080 hours of electronics training before graduating from high school, which he followed with college coursework. He further obtained an electrical contractor's certification and license in the state of North Carolina.
Recognizing his success and expertise in the industry, Mr. Edwards' most prized award-winning buggy is the Wild Cherry Dune Buggy that he built in 2013 prior to opening his business. He has since been featured in a local Greensboro, North Carolina, newspaper with a feature article and his work was also highlighted in a documentary. Moreover, he was honored as the Jaycee of the Year by the North Carolina Junior Chamber. Meanwhile, Carolina Dune Buggies Inc. is currently pitching a network television series, as his team have already filmed a year's worth of episodes as part of Carolina Dune Buggy Film Productions.
