To commemorate his accomplishments, Dr. Bush received numerous chairman awards and was named as the Employee of the Month by Vista Health System in 2021.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL, January 07, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Eugene Nyle Bush with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Bush celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Now retired, Dr. Bush served as a pharmacologist, pharmacist and researcher who specialized in critical care for more than 30 years. Presently, he works as the pharmacy residency program director for the Vista Health System in Waukegan, Illinois, which notably earns students' certifications from an accredited program through the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHSP). Dr. Bush also functions as a reviewer for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACC) training programs, which are subsequently returned to be used as coursework material for the pharmacy practice.
Dr. Bush began his career in 1978 as a teaching assistant while pursuing his doctorate degree at the University of Pittsburgh, whereupon he was acquired by Abbot Laboratories in 1981. Over the next two and a half decades, during which time he specialized in pharmaceutical research and development, he rose from a pharmacologist to a senior research scientist and, among other roles, an associate Volwiler research fellow between 1997 and 2007. During his tenure with Abbott, one of Mr. Bush's greatest achievements involved a study that showed that Lupron, which was used to treat advanced prostate cancer in men, was no less potent than other analogs that the laboratory was attempting to develop. As a seasoned researcher, he also contributed to numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals to disseminate his findings.
To support his work, Dr. Bush remains active as a prominent member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Diabetes Association and the American Pharmacists Association. He is a former member of the Endocrine Society and the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. Additionally, Dr. Bush has been an active member of the National Eagle Scout Association and Sigma Xi.
An alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Bush earned a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy in 1977 and a Doctor of Philosophy in pharmacology in 1981. He is a registered pharmacist in the states of Pennsylvania and Illinois and is certified as a pharmacotherapy specialist and critical care pharmacist.
