Originally driven to become a psychologist or psychiatrist, Ms. Dickerson attended the University of Central Florida. While studying at this institution, she decided that she wanted to pursue education as well and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and social science education. She earned her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Texas at Arlington. She has experience in multiple areas of education. She has taught grade levels from 3rd-12th grade in different subject areas in different locations throughout the United States. She has taught in person and virtually, and currently plays a major role at her Alma Mater, Pensacola High School.
Over the years, Ms. Dickerson gained valuable expertise in the field as a literacy coach for the Escambia County School District. Today, she channels her considerable knowledge into her work as an international baccalaureate coordinator, school administrator and assistant principal for Pensacola High School. In her many roles, she maintains all aspects of the IB program, including compliance, curriculum, community management, training, teacher evaluation and more.
Throughout her career, Ms. Dickerson has furthered her expertise with several certifications and licenses such as a TESOL certification, a graphic design certificate, a family consumer science teaching license, a social science teaching license and a reading teaching license. In order to stay abreast of changes in the field, she aligns herself with the Florida IB Schools Association. Outside of her work, she dedicates herself to others as a Jubilee Church youth leader and as a volunteer with the Pensacola Dream Center. In light of her professional excellence, she was named as an In Weekly Rising Star in 2021. Looking ahead, Ms. Dickerson plans to complete her doctoral program and eventually become a professor.
