SAN ANTONIO, TX, January 12, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gregory C. Hudspeth has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Driven by a desire to exert a positive impact on the world, Dr. Hudspeth pursued a career in education and public policy. After having received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree in political science, he enrolled at Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU), where he attained a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership Studies in 2002. During his 41-year teaching career at St. Philip's College, be taught political science courses and later taught public policy courses to Leadership Studies students at OLLU. He left teaching full time briefly to become Dean of Arts and Sciences for seven years. He later returned to the classroom in 2014 here be taught until his retirement in 2019. Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Hudspeth has been most proud to educate people and give students the opportunity to demonstrate their skills.
Currently, Dr. Hudspeth maintains involvement in his community as the president of the San Antonio Branch of the NAACP. He regularly meets with community leaders to include the Chief of Police, the Bexar County Sheriff, the Bexar County Judge, local business leaders, other local civil rights groups, and various religious leaders. He has established communication with these various and diverse groups which bas aided the local NAACP Branch. Because he has deep roots in the NAACP, he has followed in his father's footsteps to become the Branch president, served as a chairperson of the local Branch Housing Committee, chaired the Freedom Fund celebration, and serves as the Housing Chair of the Texas State Conference. Dr. Hudspeth can look back to his formative years in the San Antonio Branch as he served on the Youth Council. Additionally, he assists in organizing NAACP Financial Literacy programs that help people gain practical life skills that will aid families in planning for the future.
In addition to his primary endeavors, he has also frequently appeared on local television stations and speaks to incoming classes at the police academy. For his various educational expertise, he was recognized among the Top 10 Professors in the State of Texas by the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation. Dr. Hudspeth maintains his affiliation with the Bexar County Democratic Party, Voices of Children of San Antonio Child Advocacy, Any Baby Can, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He also serves on the Deacon Board and is Chairman of the Trustee Boards at Mt. Zion First Baptist Church.
