Encouraged by her parents to pursue higher education, Ms. Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts in social science with a minor in mathematics from Central Michigan University as well as a master's degree. She subsequently excelled as a public educator for more than 35 years before parlaying her vast knowledge to others. Ms. Brown currently serves as an educational consultant for Young Innovators of Genesee County.
Outside of her primary responsibilities, Ms. Brown has contributed to her community through Glenwood Historical Cemetery and Arboretum and the Archive Office of Ruth Mott Foundation, Applewood Estate. For her professional excellence, she has been recognized as the Teacher of the Month on several occasions. Ms. Brown was additionally presented with an Educational Excellence Award from the Michigan Association of School Boards.
Even though her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Brown is incredibly proud of organizing a summer school program that helped students determine their future. Looking ahead, she aims to continue helping children in her present position.
