CHARLOTTE, NC, January 17, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Hakeem Ayinde has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Ayinde obtained his medical degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, in 2008. He then began his career in medicine as a house officer at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada, Nigeria from 2008 to 2009. He went on to serve as a medical officer with the Nigeria Police Hospital from 2009 to 20 I0, where he provided urgent care and primary care to police officers and their families.
Dr. Ayinde moved to the United States in 2010 to advance his training in Medicine. He completed a Master of Science in cell and molecular biology at S1. John's University in 2012. He was accepted for postgraduate medical training as a resident physician in Internal Medicine at Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC from 2012 to 2015. It was there that he discovered his passion for heart disease and heart rhythm disorders. He then proceeded to the University of Iowa for a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases and Masters in Translational Biomedicine training from 2015 to 2018. He completed a cardiac electrophysiology fellowship training at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta from 2018 to 2020. Since 2020, he has found success as a clinical electrophysiologist treating heart rhythm disorders with Novant Health in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Ayinde credits his success to the patients he has learned from and the mentorship that he has received during his career.
Holding multiple board certifications in cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular diseases and adult echocardiography from the American Board of Internal Medicine and National Board of Echocardiography respectively, Dr Ayinde has also completed the National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) training for clinical and translational researchers. He received numerous training and research awards including the Paul and Mary Neuhauser Award for Most Outstanding Presentation by a Clinical Fellow at the University of Iowa, the Outstanding Scholarly Activity Award from the Howard University Hospital, the Saunders Hall/Shulman Hypertension Award in Recognition of Research in Hypertension and the Federal Government of Nigeria University Merit Scholarship Award, among many others. He has published multiple peer-reviewed articles in reputable scholarly journals.
Dr. Ayinde currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Cardiology sub-section of the National Medical Association and serves on the membership committee of the Heart Rhythm Society. He also has a passion for mentoring, as he mentors many young minority physicians through the Association of Black Cardiologists. Dr. Ayinde takes pride in improving patients' quality of life by treating their heart rhythm abnormalities. However, he cites his crowning achievement to be raising his two sons and witnessing them grow up. In the coming years, Dr. Ayinde intends to continue to use his expertise and passion to improve the health of his patients and help advance the field of medicine.
